About Madagascar Post
Paositra Malagasy is the company responsible for postal service in Madagascar. Telecommunications activities began in 1886: France and England had established a regular courier service, the post office was created in 1888. French residents in Madagascar have experienced difficulties in obtaining the signature authorizing the construction and operation of telegraph lines, linking the capital and the provinces. The operation of the postal service at the time was provided by foreign administration. After independence, the agency has expanded its holdings of public networks and services and become a part of the Ministry of Public Works management. The general organization of the Ministry was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic No. 1046 of March 29, 1975.
