IMPORT DUTY CHARGED, ITEM LOST

FedEx UK charged me import duty on an item which at the time was already lost. My item got from India to Stanstead Airport with no trouble and FedEx UK manage to lose it at the airport. When I complained they told me to ask the seller for another item. FedEx UK's compensation scheme is a bit like being asked to countersign your claim with the signatures of both sets of great grandparents, impossible. They shirked all responsibility over my item and I am out of pocket. Communication with them is near impossible. I wouldn't trust FedEx UK to deliver a newspaper.
